Massimiliano Allegri has once again had to make late changes to his plans before a crucial game in AC Milan’s season.
Tuttosport write this morning that ‘we need an app, like the one for the weather’, to help with the uncertainty that is Rafael Leao. The duality of the Portuguese was seen over the two games against Lazio, in which he scored a winner in the league but then missed a huge chance in the cup defeat.
A fallen partner
On Sunday, it emerged that Christian Pulisic missed the training session due to a fever. The American didn’t leave with the team for Turin, and there’s a ‘90% chance he won’t play’ even if he has now travelled to meet the team.
It would be the second consecutive league match missed for the former Chelsea player, who also missed last week against Lazio with a muscle strain. Allegri, for whom Pulisic is a kind of talisman (when he scores, Milan always win), had thrown him back into the fray in the final minutes of the Thursday night.

The coach hopes that paracetamol will do the job, but at best he is looking at another snippet towards the end off the bench. So, once again, Milan can only rely solely on Leao’s performances in the penalty area.
He’s their most reliable asset, also because Santiago Gimenez is still recovering. Allegri expects him back with the squad next week, but it’s more likely he’ll be fully available for the Supercoppa against Napoli.
Alongside Leao, Nkunku should get the nod. Allegri’s plan B could be to field Loftus-Cheek in place of the Frenchman, but the Englishman is currently competing for a midfield spot too with Samuele Ricci. Unwelcome headaches for Max, just before a big game. It sounds familiar.
