A possible winter fix has emerged for AC Milan’s striker issue, and it is a player that knows all about playing at San Siro.
According to Tuttosport (via TMW) Milan are searching for ‘missing goals’. The attacking efforts have been led so far by Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic, because Christopher Nkunku and Santiago Gimenez are yet to score in the league. The latter’s injury has complicated Massimiliano Allegri’s plans further, too.
It’s therefore inevitable that thoughts will turn to the January transfer window, which is increasingly close. The Rossoneri may be considering potential offers for the Mexican striker, after his near-departure in the summer. However, it’s not a given that concrete offers will arrive given his form.
Mauro to Milan?
Who could arrive? Robert Lewandowski certainly can’t be considered for the winter, but he could be considered for the summer, should he not renew his contract with Barcelona and not ask for a salary that’s out of budget.
The newspaper then adds that the Artem Dovbyk option could be shelved, given he will be out until the end of the year with a muscle tear. Alternatively, Jonathan David, who is struggling at Juventus, has also been mentioned.

This name could be resurfaced, although Milan seemed to go cold on the former Lille player and his struggles at Juve will only deepen concerns. That brings us to Mauro Icardi, now at Galatasaray and a former striker for rivals Inter.
The Argentine also being considered as per Tuttosport. He has started just five league games for Gala this season so far – having had to make do with being second fiddle to Victor Osimhen – but has delivered six goals.
Icardi boasts the advantage of already having been accustomed to playing in Serie A and in the biggest occasions in front of over 70,000 at San Siro. However, he is 32 years old and his salary demands remain to be established, as well as his willingness to (indirectly) cross the divide.
