Milan Futuro secured a big away victory against Varesina on Sunday afternoon, thanks to a late second half comeback.
The Futuro looked like they were heading for three points in their game against Brusaporto on Sunday after Diego Sia’s opener. However, there was a late sting in the tail as the away side were awarded a penalty with just a few minutes to go, and converted it to snatch a 1-1 draw.
The first half started badly for Oddo’s men against Varesina today, with a defensive lapse in concentration in the fifth minute allowing Costantino to head in the opening goal from close range, putting the hosts 1-0 up.
Milan attempted to get level but barely troubled the opposing goalkeeper Lorenzi. The first half was dominated by counter-attacks from the home team, and the Rossoneri played a rather sterile game.
The second half took a different approach, with Milan Futuro finding the equalizer in the 57th minute through Maximilian Ibrahimovic, who tapped in from close range. Varesina tried to respond a few minutes later, hitting the post with the usual Costantino, who almost bagged a brace.
In the final moments, when a draw was increasingly probable, Magrassi – a second-half substitute – won it with a powerful shot from outside the area. Lorenzi was at full stretch but couldn’t parry it away, sparking wild scenes of celebration. The Futuro stay fifth, but get back to winning ways.
