Tottenham academy graduate Yusuf Akhamrich continues to show his class at Bristol Rovers, with the youngster coming off the bench to net a brilliant individual goal on Saturday.

Tottenham had a bruising afternoon at the Stadium of Light, as not only did they lose 1-0 and remain in the relegation zone, but they also lost their captain, Cristian Romero, to an injury.

While it was a day to forget for Spurs, one of the club’s youngsters had a great weekend as his side registered a crucial win in League Two.

Yusuf Akhamrich has been impressing since his January loan switch to Bristol Rovers, and the 20-year-old continued his impressive run of form against Crawley Town at home on Sunday.

Akhamrich did not make the starting eleven against Crawley Town but was brought on as an 86th-minute substitute at the Memorial Stadium, with the home side leading 2-1.

As Crawley pushed forward for an equaliser, the Tottenham youngster registered a knockout punch in stoppage time, picking up the ball deep in his own half, running the length of the pitch, and keeping his composure to lob the goalkeeper.

It was Akhamrich’s fifth strike since his January move and arguably the best of the lot so far, as the youngster continues to impress.

One wonders if the club’s decision-makers may be planning the same regarding Akhamrich, who continues to outperform expectations in his first loan spell at Bristol Rovers.

Johan Lange and co will certainly be watching the winger’s performance closely, and one would imagine the youngster would want to continue playing regularly next season after getting a taste of senior football over the last few months.
