Vitiello: Milan dressing room ‘fully invested’ in Allegri’s work – coach has ‘complete control’

The AC Milan dressing room are fully behind Massimiliano Allegri, given the impact that he has made since arriving.

Sunday’s win over Roma might just have been the biggest indicator yet of how Allegri’s hand is evident. He made some tactical tweaks to help his side settle after a rough start, barking orders from the sidelines as his team recorded a massive 1-0 victory.

There were other moments too, such as when the coach protected Alexis Saelemaekers from getting himself into any further trouble in his tussle with Wesley. Above all, moving one point behind the league-leaders Napoli is beginning to make some fans dream, even if that might be premature.

Max has ‘complete control’

Antonio Vitiello published his weekly column for MilanNews and he spoke about the influence that Allegri has had when it comes to uniting the changing room, who are all behind him.

“Ten league games are enough to say that AC Milan are there, has a soul, and are on course for its objectives. Max Allegri’s plan is progressing well: the coach’s goal is to reach March among the top teams, then play the final two months at most.

“The current standings see the Rossoneri one point off first place, thus in line with the coach’s expectations. Speaking of Max, his return has truly improved the team. The Livorno native is doing great things, and the numbers speak for themselves: 21 points with just one defeat, in their opening league match against Cremonese.

“This means the Rossoneri are unbeaten in nine straight games – the last time they achieved this was a year and a half ago. In these first ten games, they’ve already faced five head-to-head matches for European spots, winning three (Napoli, Bologna, and Roma) and drawing two (Juventus and Atalanta). No defeats in the big matches, a significant factor.

“Meanwhile, in the matches against newly-promoted teams, something needs to be reworked. Milan have a full seven more points than last season after ten league matches . This proves that the Rossoneri world has returned to normality as soon as the club decided to hire a winning coach.

“On the eve of the match against Roma, he declared that Napoli and Inter have superior squads to compete for the Scudetto. And that’s probably true. However, Allegri is performing on par with the other teams, despite having a smaller squad and not all top-tier players. And despite everything, the performance is good, and that’s thanks to Allegri.

“The dressing room are following him, and everyone is invested in this Milan rebirth project. It’s said that the Tuscan coach truly has complete control of the team, and the facts are proving him right. Many players are fascinated by his methods, and those of his large staff at Milanello, who are considered an absolute asset to Milan.”
