Vitiello: Milan not convinced despite relations with Brighton defender’s agent and loan opportunity

Diego Coppola has been offered to AC Milan by the player’s agent, per various reports, but the Rossoneri are currently not convinced about signing the youngster.

It’s not exactly a secret that Milan are looking to bolster their defence with a centre-back this month. Several names have been linked with the club but in the last week or so, there hasn’t been much concrete movement from the management.

Diego Coppola, who plays for Brighton in the Premier League, has been mentioned previously by various sources. Already at the start of December, it was reported that the 22-year-old has been offered to the club amid the tough start in England.

Why Milan are hesitant

Today, Antonio Vitiello provided some background on the site in his YouTube video. Giorgio Furlani is ‘very close’ to the player’s agent, who often finds himself at Casa Milan, so the fact that Coppola has been proposed is far from surprising.

However, despite the right relationship with the agent, it’s an operation that doesn’t convince the Milan management. The feeling is that they want someone who’s a bit more ready, and the favourable formula (a loan, perhaps with an option to buy) isn’t enough to sway them for now.

As such, the pursuit for a centre-back continues. It might just be that the Rossoneri want to see what opportunities will emerge towards the end of the window.
