AC Milan got themselves ahead in their Coppa Italia tie against Lecce, with Santiago Gimenez getting a much-needed goal.
The deadlock was broken in the 20th minute after a controversial red card for the visitors and a lot of chances missed. Not only that, but it was the scorer that everyone was hoping for as Gimenez got off the mark for the season.
Davide Bartesaghi was the creator of the goal, striking a fantastic first-time cross on the volley which landed right at the feet of the Mexican. He just needed one to go in by any means, and he found the back of the next from a few yards out, much to everyone’s relief.
