In the summer, there were suggestions that AC Milan could sign Moise Kean. However, it may be a good thing that it didn’t happen.
With Milan looking short up top, Massimiliano Allegri requested that a top striker arrive at the club, and Kean was an idea that was mentioned. The Italian had just scored 19 Serie A goals, and the pair had previous experience together.
However, a move was never made.
Kean praises his friend
Now, though, it seems like that may have been a good thing. The lack of a striker pushed Allegri to play Leao in a central role, and the benefits are clear to see so far. He has scored five Serie A goals, only sitting behind Lautaro Martinez so far.
If Kean – or any other striker for that matter – had joined, who knows if Leao would have been rediscovered. Ahead of the 2025 AIC Gran Galà del Calcio, Kean was asked by MilanPress about his friend, Leao’s, season and the chances of him ending the year as top scorer.
“Yes, absolutely, he deserves it. He’s a fantastic player: I wish him all the best.”
