AC Milan had the chance to reclaim top spot in the Serie A standings by beating Fiorentina and they took it, but it wasn’t an easy night.

Milan went into the match against a struggling Viola side battling a real injury crisis. Christian Pulisic, Adrien Rabiot, Christopher Nkunku, Pervis Estupinan, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ardon Jashari all missed out due to various issues.

Robin Gosens put Fiorentina ahead early in the second half to stun the home crowd, but then Rafael Leao came to the fore. He scored from outside the box with a lovely shot to level things, then converted a penalty inside the final 10 minutes to seal an eventual 2-1 win.
