Watch: Santiago Gimenez scores stunning last-minute goal for Mexico vs. South Korea

Santiago Gimenez was on the scoresheet for Mexico last night, and the circumstances surrounding the goal could prove to be huge for the AC Milan striker.

Heading into the final part of the summer window there was a lot of noise about Gimenez potentially being offloaded by Milan just a few months after he was signed. However, no move came to fruition and now he wants to prove that he is capable of taking San Siro by storm.

He will fly back across the Atlantic with some confidence, too. In the final minute of added time in Mexico’s friendly against South Korea in the early hours of Wednesday morning (European time), he provided a brilliant moment.

The forward picked up the ball on the edge of the box with the score 2-1 to South Korea, dropped a shoulder and curled a beautiful left-footed shot inside the far post. It is the kind of goal that will give him a huge boost, and one he can hopefully recreate many times for Milan.
