After Manchester City beat Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley, footage of Pep Guardiola's interaction with three Gunners stars has emerged

Pep Guardiola had a warm exchange with Bukayo Saka, Eberechi Eze and Gabriel Jesus after Manchester City beat Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final. The Catalan was the happiest person in north London after his side overcame Mikel Arteta's beneath the Wembley arch.

Nico O'Reilly's brace of headers was enough to secure Guardiola's fifth League Cup triumph. For Arteta, it was a lumbered performance which ends Arsenal's bid to win a historic quadruple.

After the match, Guardiola managed to bump into Saka, Eze and Jesus in the tunnel after the match. He shared a warm embrace with the trio, shaking hands with Saka and sharing a hug with Eze, who missed the final with the calf injury.

England and Nike have launched the new home, away and goalkeeper kits to be worn at this summer's FIFA World Cup.

Guardiola also got to have a conversation with Jesus, the very player he sold to the Gunners in the summer of 2022. Their exchanges appeared to be warm and friendly, with Eze smiling throughout the duration of their conversation.

Understandably, nobody in the capital had a bigger smile than Guardiola. His side were the underdogs going into the clash at Wembley, but they heavily outclassed the laboured Gunners.

For Arteta, it's a huge loss which extends his winless run without a trophy. While Arsenal have come close to winning the Premier League over the last four seasons, Arteta is still without a major trophy since winning the FA Cup not long after replacing Unai Emery.

While Arsenal are still in the FA Cup and the Champions League, and are also top of the Premier League by nine points, the League Cup final was a huge opportunity to end their barren run. After the match, Arteta tried to urge fans to see the bigger and more positive picture, despite the disappointing display.

He said: "Well, especially to have some perspective on it and what this team has done in the last eight months has been incredible and we're going to use this disappointment and this fire in the belly to have the most amazing two months that we have ever together.

"That's on us and we'll manage that energy in the right way. Now we have to go through that pain and disappointment and it's normal and it's part of football.

"For sure, there will be a lot of aspects that we will discuss. There will be a lot of aspects that we need to discuss, I think we have to reflect on that, bring the temperature down a little bit and we will discuss that."

After the international break, Arsenal travel to Southampton for the FA Cup quarter-final on April 4, before flying to Portugal to take on Sporting in the first-leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie on April 7.
