Arsenal and Chelsea will lock horns again in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final next month as they each look to get their hands on a piece of silverware
Arsenal and Chelsea, as well as Manchester City and Newcastle United, will have to wait until next month to secure a place in the Carabao Cup final. There were seven goals across the pair of semi-final first legs, with many more to follow next month.
The Gunners clambered to a 3-2 victory at Stamford Bridge, while Pep Guardiola's side enjoyed a 2-0 win over the holders at St. James' Park. Manchester City set the pace on Tuesday night, crafting two excellently worked goals.
Then, on Wednesday evening, Arsenal and Chelsea went toe-to-toe in another fiery encounter. Each of the four teams will now go away, lick their wounds and gear up for what promises to be an exhilarating end to the campaign.
So, with that being said, football.london has rounded up everything you need to know about the Carabao Cup final.
When is the Carabao Cup final?
The Carabao Cup final will be played at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, March 22. The kick-off time is yet to be confirmed, but it's expected to be 4:30pm – just as it was last year when Newcastle stormed past Liverpool.
In 2024, however, when the Reds defeated Chelsea, the kick-off was moved to 3pm due to police demands. For the second consecutive year, the tie will be played later in the year than in previous editions.
The Carabao Cup final is usually played in February, but this year, of course, it'll be held in March. It coincides with the gameweek 31 of the Premier League season, meaning the two finalists will have their fixtures rescheduled.
Who will play in the Carabao Cup final?
Arsenal or Chelsea will face either Manchester City or Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final. In the first leg, the Gunners held on to a 3-2 victory at Stamford Bridge, while Pep Guardiola's side enjoyed a 2-0 win over the holders at St. James' Park.
All four clubs have previously won the competition, with Arsenal having the longest trophy drought, having last emerged victorious in 1993. The Gunners will host Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on February 3, before Newcastle travel to the Etihad Stadium to face Man City on February 4.
How to watch the Carabao Cup final?
Tickets for the Carabao Cup final will be sold by the finalists once they are decided. The Wembley Stadium website will not be selling accessible tickets for the highly anticipated clash, including any requests for the Sensory Room.
For viewers in the UK, all Carabao Cup matches have been, and will continue to be, available to watch on Sky Sports or Sky Sports+ this season. Last year, the final was also broadcast on free-to-air ITV for the first time since 2012.
