Which Premier League managers are in danger of being fired? Arne Slot rated

1 week ago 10

The Premier League's managerial carousel is always in motion, and this season has been no exception.

Despite the season being in its early stages, three managers have already departed their posts. Graham Potter (West Ham), Nuno Espirito Santo, and Ange Postecoglou (both Nottingham Forest) have all been shown the door so far this season.

While these three have been ousted, there remains pressure on some of their counterparts - including Liverpool boss Arne Slot after four consecutive Premier League defeats. With only nine matches played so far, there could be more shake-ups on the horizon. But who is feeling the heat and might be facing the chop soon? On the other hand, who seems secure in their position for the foreseeable future? Let's take a look...

Safe as houses

Firstly, let's consider those who can rest easy, knowing their jobs are secure for now. Mikel Arteta, who is currently leading the table, is certain to stay at Arsenal due to his outstanding work in north London.

Andoni Iraola of Bournemouth and Sunderland's Regis Le Bris are also likely to remain in their current roles, having guided their respective teams to strong starts this season. Thomas Frank has also made an impressive start with Tottenham, so he's not going anywhere.

Pep Guardiola's future at Manchester City is likely in his own hands, so he won't be forced out. Oliver Glasner's future has seemed uncertain at times, but after guiding Crystal Palace to FA Cup glory last season, it would be a massive surprise to see him leave.

Safe, for now

Sean Dyche, recently appointed at Forest and victorious in his opening match against Porto, is safe... for the time being.

At the start of the season, it would have been ludicrous to suggest that Arne Slot's position at Liverpool was under threat - and it remains so. However, his standing at the club doesn't seem as solid as it once did.

The Reds have suffered defeats in five of their last six matches, making a title challenge appear unlikely at this point. While there's no suggestion that he's under any pressure, Slot needs to reverse Liverpool's fortunes sooner rather than later.

The same could certainly be said for Unai Emery, Enzo Maresca, and Eddie Howe - all are secure at the moment, but how the season unfolds could potentially affect their futures. Scott Parker, David Moyes, Daniel Farke, Keith Andrews, and Fabian Hurzeler are all relatively safe for now.

At risk

Turning our attention to managers who might soon find themselves jobless, Ruben Amorim tops that list. The Portuguese coach was under intense scrutiny just a few weeks ago, with one poor result seemingly enough to seal his fate.

Fortunately for him, the Red Devils seem to have turned things around in recent weeks. This has eased the pressure somewhat, but another poor run could put him back in the hot seat.

Marco Silva, the fellow Portuguese at Fulham, is also feeling the heat after a disappointing start to the season with just two victories. While there's no news of Silva being in danger, a few more positive results would certainly be welcome.

Meanwhile, in another part of London, Nuno Espirito Santo is having a torrid time. Having already been dismissed by Forest earlier this season, he's now struggling at West Ham without a single win.

If this poor run continues, it could prompt the club's owners to consider another managerial shake-up.

Game over

The situation at Molineux is looking increasingly dire, not least due to Vitor Pereira's heated confrontation with fans at the final whistle. It's clear that the manager is under significant pressure.

It seems inevitable that Wolves' owners will make a managerial change sooner rather than later, and that could even happen this weekend if the team suffers another defeat.
