Chelsea have today sacked Liam Rosenior as head coach after just three-and-a-half months in charge at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues took the decision to part company with Rosenior and end his six-and-a-half year contract following seven defeats from their last eight matches in all competitions. It all came to an end on Tuesday evening, where Chelsea were put to the sword away at Brighton, with the supporters who travelled down to the Amex Stadium venting their frustration at the former head coach.
football.london understands BlueCo, the ownership group in charge of the club, have made the decision now, just four days ahead of Chelsea's FA Cup semi-final against Leeds United, with that in mind. There is still much for the Blues to play for between now and the end of the season, including Sunday's clash at Wembley, and the club believe this gives them the best chance to achieve their remaining objectives.

Chelsea chiefs held a meeting on Wednesday where they discussed and reviewed Rosenior's position and ultimately decided enough was enough. It is understood the club have been impressed with the professionalism Rosenior has showcased throughout his short time at the club.
BlueCo are aware such a decision will raise questions among supporters, with the ownership group deciding to pull the plug on Rosenior less than four months into a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge. However, the decision, taken collectively across the club's sporting leadership team, is with the club's long-term interests in mind, sources say.
Senior officials in BlueCo are aware they do not get every decision right and are looking to learn from past mistakes. A careful and considered process will now take place before appointing Rosenior's long-term successor.
Sources have told football.london the club are not in active talks with any potential successor at the time of writing. BlueCo are willing to take the necessary time before appointing the next long-term head coach, with the ownership group looking for someone who aligns with the club's long-term ambition and can help develop the young squad at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea players and staff were informed of Rosenior's departure before the official announcement was made.
