Why Fofana, Leao and Loftus-Cheek will be in the stands for Leeds vs. Milan

As a result of Milan’s tight schedule this weekend, taking on both Leeds United and Chelsea, Max Allegri has decided to leave three players in the stands for the former game.

The game between Milan and Leeds is scheduled for 16:00 CEST, with the Rossoneri looking to clinch their third consecutive win. They will have to do so without Rafael Leao, who has been instrumental so far this pre-season.

As reported by MilanNews, the Portuguese winger will be in the stands along with Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Youssouf Fofana. No injuries have been reported for them, so it’s a case of getting rest ahead of the Chelsea game tomorrow.

Noah Okafor is starting on the left flank instead, while Santiago Gimenez is back up front, so Allegri will still have some strong names to rely on. Furthermore, Ardon Jashari is in the starting XI so the Milan fans will get a first look at the new signing.

It remains to be seen if Allegri will make many changes at half-time, or if he will keep the eleven mostly the same throughout the clash. What’s clear is that those who play a lot today won’t play tomorrow, with Leao and co ready to step in for that one.
