Why Pulisic apologised to Gimenez despite successful evening against Udinese

Christian Pulisic scored two goals and provided an assist in AC Milan’s win against Udinese. However, at full-time, it wasn’t all about celebrating for the American star.

Pulisic broke the deadlock for Milan at Stadio Friuli, making the most of a goalkeeper rebound inside the box. He went on to set up the second goal through great defending in the second half, before firing the third past the goalkeeper.

In short, it was a fantastic display and he was rightfully named the MOTM. Despite this, according to a report by Gazzetta dello Sport, it wasn’t all about celebrating for Pulisic after the game as he apologised to Santiago Gimenez.

It all stems from a counter-attack chance in the 60th minute, as Adrien Rabiot (after a great run, we should add) picked out Pulisic behind the Udinese defence. Instead of going for the hat-trick, the No.11 tried to square it to Gimenez for an easy goal.

Sadly, Udinese captain Jesper Karlström did really well to block the cross at the last second. It was more of a great block than a failed cross, but still, Pulisic apologised to Gimenez for not finding him as they walked off the pitch.

In short, Pulisic isn’t just delivering on the pitch in terms of goals and assists, but he’s also helping his teammates when possible.
