‘Will be monitored’ – Pellegatti provides update on Leao’s situation ahead of Roma

Since the Atalanta game, there have been some suggestions that AC Milan could be without Rafael Leao for this weekend’s game against Roma.

This weekend, Milan have a huge chance to continue their charge for the Scudetto, with a big six-pointer against Roma. A win at San Siro would surely further establish the side as strong contenders for a Champions League place, at least.

However, it would also show that they are one of the best teams in the league if they are able to boast wins against Napoli and the Giallorossi.

Leao update

It seems they may have to make do without Leao, though, who is reportedly a concern for the game. Reports have suggested that the star has had an MRI, which has ruled out any serious injuries, but he is having to undergo treatment and regular evaluations.

This afternoon, Carlo Pellegatti provided an update on his situation, and MilanNews have relayed his comments.

“We’ll understand Rafael Leao’s condition day by day. He has a hip problem. Tests yesterday were negative, so everything is fine; he has no injuries. But he’ll also be monitored day by day, as will Gimenez himself, who left the match against Atalanta with a problem that seems to be surmountable. He, too, will have to wait and see.”
