Struggling Wolves could be without eight players for its trip to face Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League this weekend, with Rob Edwards' side only having picked up two points this season to date.

Wolves have drawn with Spurs and Brighton but lost every other fixture in the Premier League this season, including all six since Edwards took over from Vitor Pereira. They have lost 11 games in a row in all competitions, and last won at Anfield in January 2017 in the FA Cup.

"Toti (Gomes) is a no," Wolves boss Edwards said ahead of the game. "He's out for a significant period of time with his hamstrings. So, it'll be weeks."

Winger Rodrigo Gomes is sidelined at the moment too. He is poised to return in late January or potentially early February, which isn’t ideal for a team lacking options.

The attacker had surgery last month and is now on the road to recovery. Meanwhile, Emmanuel Agbadou is at AFCON with Ivory Coast and will be back next month.

Midfielder Jean Ricner-Bellegarde, who has been linked with a transfer move to Besiktas ahead of the upcoming transfer window, is out of action with a thigh issue. To make matters worse, he has been sick recently on top of that.

"He has also had a bit of illness, so we've not seen him much this week," Edwards said. "We've been keeping him away, so he doesn't pass anything on to anyone else. [He's] out for weeks, which is a real shame."

Marshall Munetsi is unavailable for the next few weeks as well. Like Bellegarde, his long-term future is up in the air, with several French sides said to be taking a look.

As a result of his injury, Munetsi is missing AFCON. "I had an injury recently, but my club, Wolves, communicated with the association that I was recovering well and even offered medical support to ensure that I could participate at the AFCON," he said.

"Unfortunately, I received no follow-up communication, and decisions were made without clarity-speculation which wasn't the case."

Left-back Hugo Bueno will need to be assessed ahead of kick-off. He trained on Monday and should be fit to feature at Anfield, which is a boost for Wolves given he has been handed a few more starting chances this season.

Back-up goalkeeper Daniel Bentley has been ruled out of late with a foot injury and his exact return date is unknown at this stage. Wolves have other options between the sticks like Sam Johnstone and Jose Sa anyway.

Elsewhere, Leon Chiwome, the teenage forward, has been out with a long-term ACL injury. It remains to be seen when he will play again.

Yerson Mosquera was suspended for reaching five yellow cards last time out, but is free to return here. Dominik Szoboszlai hit the same mark last weekend and will therefore be missing for Liverpool.
