‘Working on other options’ – Moretto offers update on Milan striker pursuit

This weekend could be big for AC Milan’s pursuit of a striker, considering some more names could come into the mix.

There is a lot of work to do before the end of the summer. However, it involves one more signing: a striker. Milan cannot go into the season with only one forward, and when Santiago Gimenez has not fully proved himself, it enhances the need.

Of course, the Rossoneri are aware of this, and Massimiliano Allegri is requesting a new number nine. No one has arrived yet, though, and it may be a bit longer before a signing is made.

Work to do

Over the course of the weekend, the Diavolo could learn a lot. Rasmus Hojlund is hoping to be part of Manchester United’s team against Arsenal; if he is not, he could leave the club. Then, other ideas may emerge.

Matteo Moretto spoke about the situation this afternoon, and MilanNews have relayed his words.

“As of today, we have no information about Kean. We understand that Milan are continuing to work on the Hojlund option, but there’s still no agreement with the player. It’s true that he has expressed an openness to listening to the Rossoneri’s proposal. However, the player is still asking for a permanent transfer.

“Hojlund will be playing in the Premier League this weekend. We’ll see if United use him or not, but I think that starting next week, Milan will understand whether they can sign Hojlund or not. Milan are also working on other options, although Hojlund is the most concrete. But it’s not the only one.”
