‘Would like to stay’ – Moretto clarifies situation as Milan continue to consider Gatti

It seems AC Milan are not giving up their pursuit of Federico Gatti. However, the Juventus man may not be available at all this window.

There is a desire to add another defender to the ranks at Milan, and Massimiliano Allegri has considered signing another of his former players; this time, Gatti from Juventus. However, it is appearing to be a difficult task.

Reports before the New Year suggested that the Bianconeri had rejected the idea already, so if a move was to happen, it was reliant on Gatti pushing for a move himself. This now seems like it will not happen.

Gatti puts his foot down

Now in the January mercato, this would be the time to make any moves and state you wanted to leave. But, Gatti has not done that, instead confirming his desire to stay in Turin, as Matteo Moretto reports, via Radio Rossonera.

“We talked about it around Christmas, then we said that at the time we had no immediate news regarding the various exchanges with Ricci, Loftus-Cheek , and everything else. So, now we’re even hearing denials from those directly involved in this operation.

“Checking this type of situation, they tell me that Gatti isn’t actually pushing to leave ; in fact, he hasn’t asked to be sold. He would like to stay at Juventus, so right now Gatti’s priority and desire is to continue in black and white.”

He is certainly not the only option, and the Diavolo now must move on.
