Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio has revealed that his son has given him quite a bit of grief regarding AC Milan signing Ardon Jashari.
In the end, the Jashari saga was one that ended up dragging on for quite a long time, in fact over two months from the initial link. On Wednesday afternoon, the signing was announced by the Rossoneri, with the midfielder penning a five-year deal.
Jashari will join Luka Modric and Samuele Ricci to form part of a new-look midfield, one that needed rebuilding after the big-money sale of Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City. We analysed what fans can expect from the Swiss international in a recent analysis.
Inter’s sporting director Ausilio gave an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport, in which he also shared a funny anecdote about Jashari and his son’s liking for the player, with his comments relayed by MilanPress.
“My son Niccolò wasn’t good with his feet, he stopped playing early, but he’s passionate: he watches thousands of games, studies the players,” he said.
“When Jashari went to Milan, he scolded me. He said: ‘I recommended him to you when he was at Luzern, you let him get away.’ It’s true, he had pointed him out to me, but I told him: ‘We can’t sign all the good ones’.”
