Mohamed Salah has confirmed he will leave Liverpool in the summer after nine seasons with the club.
Salah will depart Liverpool as a club legend, having won two Premier League titles, a Champions League, an FA Cup, three League Cups, and a multitude of individual honors, including two Premier League Player of the Year awards, since coming to Merseyside from Roma in the summer of 2017.
He played a significant role in ending the club’s 30-year Premier League title drought by logging 19 goals and 10 assists in the 2019-20 campaign.
Last year, Salah posted his best individual campaign of them all, accumulating an incredible 29 goals and 18 assists to lead the Reds to the league title in Arne Slot’s debut season.
Now, the 33-year-old Egyptian will move to a new club for the first time in nearly a decade. Here are three clubs that are a realistic fit to sign Salah this summer.

Salah has been heavily linked to a move to the Saudi Pro League before, and now that his departure is confirmed, the chance he joins forces with one of the league’s premier clubs looks increasingly likely.
While Salah could realistically join any of the four clubs the Saudi Public Investment Fund has an ownership stake in, the Egyptian has been linked most heavily to 2024-25 SPL champions Al-Ittihad.
Former Reds teammate Fabinho currently plays for Al-Ittihad, who sits sixth in the Saudi Pro League at the time of Salah’s announcement.
Given the plethora of attacking options at other top Saudi clubs — such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane at Al Nassr and Karim Benzema and Malcom at Al Hilal — Salah may opt for a club where he is guaranteed playing time right off the bat.

San Diego FC
A player of Salah’s age — the Egyptian King will turn 34 on June 15 — could best be suited for MLS, a career path many European stars have opted for towards the end of their playing days.
While it remains to be seen how many more years Salah will play, there is reason to believe he could opt for MLS club San Diego FC, whose ownership group is led by British-Egyptian billionaire Mohamed Mansour.
San Diego FC debuted in MLS in 2025 and has the financial backing and roster flexibility to accommodate Salah in a Designated Player slot, which allows for a player to make more money than the league’s salary budget allows.

Should Salah want to stay in Europe and compete in the Champions League, Turkish giants Galatasaray could be a viable option.
The three-time defending Super Lig champions are a regular fixture in the Champions League — they were recently knocked out in the 2025-26 round of 16 to Liverpool — and have been able to attract European stars in recent years, including Victor Osimhen and Leroy Sane.
Salah was loosely linked to Galatasaray when rumors bubbled about a potential transfer during the January window, and the move could now become a reality with the winger’s eyes set on a new challenge this summer.
