Arne Slot has acknowledged the mounting pressure of managing Liverpool, sending a focused message to his players as the team faces a pivotal stage of the season.

Slot will be hoping his side can progress to the quarter finals of the Champions League despite being 1-0 down to Galatasaray from the first leg, especially after dropping points in the top four race against Tottenham at the weekend and with the Dutchman's job under mounting pressure.

"Of course I feel pressure, we all feel pressure" said Slot in his pre-Galatasaray press conference. "In this industry every single day there's pressure. We are working at a beautiful club with great history and we can achieve quarter-finals of CL.

"But it's also nice to have this pressure as it would otherwise mean we are out or at a lower level. We embrace this pressure."
