Bukayo Saka supported after life update as Arsenal players show true colours

Bukayo Saka's engagement to Tolami Benson was confirmed earlier this week, with a number of the Gunners star's team-mates past and present taking to social media to share their messages of support

Bukayo Saka was flooded with kind words as he announced his engagement to Tolami Benson on Friday evening.

The Arsenal forward and his beau took to Instagram to break the exciting news, co-sharing a post which simply read: "17.11.25," alongside a stunning photo carousel of the two in jubilation. One snap showed the two cuddled up, while another showed the two kissing.

Another showed Saka twirling his fiancee with a smile on his face, while on photograph showed a close-up of Benson's stunning engagement ring, decorated with a humongous precious gem. And it didn't take Saka's team-mates past and present to take to the comments section to share their messages of support, showing their class.

Former Arsenal man Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang wrote: "Not (lil) chilli anymore. Congrats Chilli boy," while Gabriel Martinelli shared a string of heart emojis. Joe Willock added: "Congratulations brother," while Folarin Balogun echoed the sentiment with: "Congrats my bro."

Arsenal Women star, Beth Mead said: "Congrats both," while Charlie Patino also shared a couple of love hearts with the happy couple. In among the likes, meanwhile, were Adebayo Akinfenwa, Gunners academy product Dan Ballard, Eberechi Eze, Gabriel, Ivan Toney, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard.

It comes after Saka popped the big question to long-time partner Benson during a date night in London. The couple have been together for five years, after striking up a romance in 2020.

She is often seen watching him as he plays for Arsenal and England. The Sun reports that Saka went 'all out' for the proposal, with sources describing the ring he used as 'enormous'.

Saka organised a special night at a top hotel in the English capital for his proposal, with a source adding: "It was incredibly special and Tolami was totally blown away."

Saka and Benson went public with their relationship at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where she was spotted along other partners of the England squad in the stands. She was also present at Euro 2024, wearing a jacket with 87 on in recognition of her beau's first-ever squad number when he broke into the Arsenal team.

Like Saka, Benson is 24. She works as a senior planning executive in London, having graduated from Birmingham University with a degree in Public Relations and Media.

It comes as Saka will be in high spirits headed into Arsenal's trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea come Sunday afternoon. Mikel Arteta's Gunners currently occupy the top spot in the Premier League standings, as a result of bagging nine wins, two draws and just a single loss from their opening 12 games.

However, Enzo Maresca's Blues will be looking to close the gap on their London rivals during the clash, given they sit just six points behind them at the time of writing. Maresca was full of praise for Arsenal during his pre-match press conference this week, highlighting how tough the task at hand will be.

He said: "For sure, Arsenal defend fantastically. Any team against them struggles to score goals. Not only to score goals but to create chances. So as a team, they defend very well, and they have weapons when they attack.

"And they’re not just [a threat from set-pieces] against one or two teams, they score goals from set-pieces against any team. Against Bayern Munich, they scored their first goal from a corner. They score goals against any team, they have a system in place that works very well, and we will do our best to stop them."
