Gary Neville lost his cool with Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli, and even told Liverpool’s players they should have ‘whacked’ him for his push on an injured Conor Bradley.
With the clash at the Emirates Stadium reaching its final stages, and the deadlock still to be broken, Bradley went down as he attempted to clear the ball, with the Liverpool defender in clear pain.
Martinelli though reacted angrily, first throwing the ball at the right-back, before pushing him while he was writhing on the floor in an attempt to get him off the pitch, sparking angry scenes from the visiting Reds.

Bradley was subsequently stretchered off the pitch, adding another injury concern to a growing list for Liverpool boss Arne Slot, and former Manchester United captain Neville was left raging with Martinelli as he commentated on the game for Sky Sports.
“You can’t push him off the pitch. You cannot do that, you idiot,” Neville began.

“That’s so poor. I’m surprised the Liverpool players haven’t gone over and had a right pop at him. I think an apology is needed.”
Neville continued: “He’s stretchered off Conor Bradley, and it’s a sad sight. Someone who’s had injuries, he’s got his hands over his face.
“I’m actually fuming with Martinelli, honestly, I don’t know how the Liverpool players didn’t go over and absolutely whack him. Take a red card, absolutely disgraceful that.”

The game would go on to finish goalless, with Liverpool preventing Arsenal from taking an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League as the Reds strengthened their own spot in fourth.
Slot’s side sits two points ahead of its nearest rival in the race for the top four, having extended its recent unbeaten run in all competitions to 10 games.
Liverpool.com says: Neville let his emotions get the better of him there, but that was truly disgraceful from Martinelli. It was so clear that Bradley had picked up a serious injury, and he should be ashamed of his reaction.
