Gary Neville has called out Chelsea's owners and sporting directors after the Blues sacked Liam Rosenior, saying the owners are 'getting it really badly wrong'
Gary Neville has taken aim at Chelsea's owners and sporting directors following their dismissal of Liam Rosenior. The former Manchester United captain has cast doubt over the Blues' approach after parting ways with a second head coach this season.
Chelsea relieved Rosenior of his duties after just three months at the helm, following the west London club's heavy defeat to Brighton. It represented the fifth consecutive occasion the Blues had been beaten without finding the net.
The club were thrown into disarray ahead of their FA Cup semi-final showdown against Leeds United, slipping to seventh place with a genuine risk of failing to qualify for European football. That appears to have prompted Chelsea into taking decisive action.

Neville is taken aback by Rosenior's departure before the season's conclusion, yet believes the circumstances surrounding his exit reflect far more poorly on the club's hierarchy than on his own capabilities.
"I am not shocked that Liam is leaving the club," Neville said on Sky Sports. "I am shocked he is leaving today, I thought at the end of the season it probably would happen.
"I don't think it is a reflection on Liam at all. He will be disappointed with that (losing games).
"I think it is time for the owners, sporting directors and players to reflect on their role in the last few weeks. The owners are getting it really badly wrong there, let's be clear."
Chelsea have named Calum McFarlane as interim head coach for the remainder of the season. In the statement confirming Rosenior's departure, the club indicated they would take time to reflect before making their next permanent managerial appointment.
"Calum McFarlane will take charge of the team as interim head coach until the end of the season with support from existing club backroom staff, as we strive to achieve European qualification and progress in the FA Cup," the statement read.
"As the club works to bring stability to the head coach position, we will undertake a process of self-reflection to make the right long-term appointment."
The Blues travel to Wembley this weekend to face Leeds in the FA Cup semi-final. They still have fixtures remaining against Nottingham Forest, Liverpool, Tottenham and Sunderland as they push for a place in European football next season.
They are level on points with Brentford and Bournemouth in eighth and ninth respectively, one point ahead of Everton, and two clear of Sunderland. Their Premier League rivals all hold a game in hand over Chelsea.
