Wrexham hosts Swansea in a mouthwatering Welsh derby on Friday as both sides look to book their place in the Championship playoffs this season.

The hosts are still on course for a remarkable fourth promotion in four years, despite falling to defeat against Hull earlier this week. Wrexham currently occupies the final play-off berth, sitting three points ahead of Southampton.

Swansea though is not far away either, lying five points off its Welsh rival, and knowing that a win on the road today would put it within touching distance of the top six as it looks to make a late push to return to the Premier League.

What the managers have said

Speaking after his side's 2-1 defeat to Hull on Tuesday, Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson said: "I just felt there's an element of maybe Kieffer [Moore] getting injured, Dobbo [George Dobson] suspended, a little bit maybe feeling sorry for ourselves.

"We've always had a real resilience about us here. We've had lots of games, lots of moments where people have said, 'How are they going to come back from that setback?'

"And I just felt with the news about Kieffer and Libby [Cacace, also injured] and things like that, I just felt within the dressing room there was that little bit of flatness.

"But we've got to be bigger than that and we've got to come out fighting on Friday [against Swansea]."

Speaking after his side's win over Portsmouth earlier this week, Swansea boss Vitor Matos said: "What we need to think is what we can do to win the game.

"It will be a really hard game as we all know - quite emotional as well.

"First we need to see what we can improve from today [at Portsmouth] to have more consistency and [then] analyse Wrexham. It's more about recovery, mindset and going there to compete."
