Liverpool could face a truly hectic final couple of months of the season as it aims to secure its place in next season’s Champions League.

The Reds face a fight to qualify for a place at Europe’s top table again. They currently sit sixth in the Premier League, with Manchester United, Aston Villa and Chelsea ahead of them in the race for the top five, which looks as though it might be enough.

Arne Slot’s side has plenty of work to do before the season ends - it is still in three competitions, and has now had its quarter-final date against Manchester City in the FA Cup confirmed.

Liverpool will travel to the Etihad on Saturday, April 4 in the first fixture of the round, and it could kick off a brutal couple of months.

The Reds are currently scheduled to play eight games in April and May as the 2025/26 campaign draws to a close, but they could end up playing as many as 15, depending on their exploits in Europe and the cup.

Head coach of Liverpool, Arne Slot (L) gives tactical information during the UEFA Champions League round of 16 play-off first leg match between Galatasaray and Liverpool at RAMS Park in Istanbul, Turkiye, on March 10, 2026

Should they overturn a 1-0 deficit against Galatasaray next week, a Champions League quarter-final meeting against one of Paris Saint-Germain or Chelsea will follow the cup tie against City, with the first leg scheduled for April 7 or 8, while the second leg takes place a week later on April 14 or 15.

A Premier League clash at home to Fulham would be sandwiched between those games on April 11, before the first Merseyside derby at Everton’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium on April 19.

The following game depends on the outcome of the FA Cup quarter-final against City. Liverpool is currently scheduled to host Crystal Palace in the league on April 25, but that will have to be moved if it reaches the semi-finals, which are scheduled that same weekend at Wembley.

Liverpool's home and away strips for the 2025/26 season are the first in their new partnership with adidas.

Fans can order jerseys in the US at Fanatics.com or via the LFC Online Store in both the US and across the world.

And that could make for a congested final month of the season, especially if the Reds also make it to the semi-finals of the Champions League. The first leg will take place on April 28 or 29, before the return leg on May 5 or 6, with a crucial game against United between those dates on May 2.

Yet more huge games follow, with Chelsea visiting Anfield on May 9 before a trip to Aston Villa on May 17. Once again, though, the latter of those two games may have to be moved if Liverpool can make it to the FA Cup final, which is set in stone for May 16.

The Reds close out their league campaign against Brentford on May 24, and fans will be hoping there’s a trip to Budapest for the Champions League final to end the season on May 30, although there’s no doubt that would make the task of guaranteeing qualification for next season’s competition through the Premier League a lot harder.
