Xavi Simons has been backed to make an impact for Tottenham against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday by former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp.
The Lilywhites have made a strong start to the 2025/26 season under Thomas Frank, winning three of their opening four games in the league. Frank's side have been defensively solid and have only conceded one goal in all competitions, with the club currently sitting third in the Premier League.
Brighton, meanwhile, have had a mixed start to the campaign as they have won one, drawn one and lost two. The Seagulls are currently 13th but did win 2-1 against Manchester City the last time they played at the Amex Stadium.
Redknapp, speaking to football betting site BetVictor, believes his former side have what it takes to come away from the south coast with all three points. The 78-year-old also believes summer signing Simons could have a major role to play.

Predicting a 2-1 win to Tottenham, Redknapp said: "Brighton have been quite up and down this season. I’ll be honest, I don’t quite know what to make of them. They looked excellent at home to City but haven’t been great aside from that.
"Aside from that defeat to Bournemouth, it’s been a great start for Spurs and for Thomas Frank. It was by no means a classic, but it was important that they started the Champions League campaign with a win, just to keep that momentum going.
"I think we’ll see a good game, plenty of chances, but I’m picking Spurs." Asked for his player to watch, Redknapp added: "Xavi Simons looks like he’ll be a good fit in this side. He’s a very talented boy and if they can get the best out of him, what a signing he could be."
Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer disagrees with Redknapp and believes the clash will finish a draw. Speaking to Betfair, Shearer said: "I did the Spurs game in the Champions League on Tuesday. It wasn't a great performance, but it was a great result for Thomas Frank's first game as a Champions League manager. I'll go for a draw here."
