Liverpool’s agreement with Mohamed Salah is set to send shockwaves through the transfer market, potentially costing rival clubs millions.

Salah is set to leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season, confirming the decision in a bombshell video on social media. The Egyptian forward signed a fresh two-year contract just last summer, but his performances this season have fallen short, contributing to a disappointing title defense.

The Premier League champions also released a statement saying an agreement has been reached to end his "remarkable" nine-year stint on Merseyside. "Liverpool to allow Mohamed Salah to leave on a FREE transfer despite having a contract at the club valid until June 2027" said Fabrizo Romano on X. "#LFC accept Salah’s desire to try new chapter in his career after making history at Anfield."

His agent Ramy Abbas confirmed Tuesday evening that no plans have been finalized regarding Mohamed Salah’s next destination. "We do not know where Mohamed will play next season,” Abbas said via Romano. “This also means that no one else knows.”
