Divock Origi spent a total of eight years at Liverpool and while he only played 175 appearances, he made an enormous impact - scoring the defining goal in the Champions League final and playing a big role in their Premier League winning season.

But since leaving the Reds in 2022, where Jurgen Klopp and Trent Alexander-Arnold brandished him a Liverpool legend, his career has gone hugely downhill.

Origi left Liverpool as a free agent before signing with AC Milan, where he hoped to emerge as a star in a frontline with Rafael Leao and Ante Rebic. However, he found himself behind both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud in the pecking order.

Origi spent the first season as a back-up option behind those two, scoring just two league goals in 27 appearances before returning to the Premier League the following season as he joined Nottingham Forest on loan.

Unfortunately for the striker, he was unable to establish himself back in English football. He failed to score a goal in his 20 Premier League appearances, with his only goal coming in the FA Cup.

The following season, Origi was back at AC Milan while being told he would not be included in the first-team, despite being under contract for two more years.

After failing to secure a move away from the team, Origi was forced to play in the team's newly created reserve team, Milan Futuro.

Origi was seen at NBA games during the Italian season in March 2025, suggesting he'd been away from the team entirely, before finally agreeing to leave in December.

The striker is said to have accepted a severance package to leave the team six months early, after not playing a game in almost 17 months.

Still just 30 years old, Origi should be in the prime of his career - showing he's capable of being a solid striker at the top after some strong performances for Liverpool.

Fans will never forget his two goals against Barcelona, as well as his well-taken finish in the final against Tottenham Hotspur.

After leaving Liverpool, Origi said: "Honestly, I feel honored. It was an honor to be able to play here at Anfield, with the team, staff, fans. It’s been an honor. You have to experience Liverpool. They told me it was a special club, and I’ve been able to see it so much.

"There are so many moments, even behind the scenes at Melwood, so many teammates, moments, fans, finals, cups, challenges when it was tough, us fighting back. It’s something you will take with you for life. I’ll be able to share these moments with my kids after. It’s been a joy.

"I lived in the city as well for a couple of years, in the middle of the city, so I know what it means after a derby day when you score, the people, all the taxi drivers.

"It’s really part of who I am. That’s why it’s so special. I’m just so happy that I’ve been able to play my part for this beautiful club."
