The date for Liverpool's high-profile FA Cup quarter-final match against Premier League rivals Manchester City has been set.

Last week, Arne Slot's team advanced to the last eight of the world's oldest knockout tournament after securing a 3-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux. However, they were dealt one of the toughest possible draws when they were pitted away to Pep Guardiola's men in the quarter-finals.

The date for the fixture has now been confirmed, with the clash at the Etihad scheduled for Saturday, April 4, kicking off at 12.45pm UK time. The match will be broadcast live by TNT Sports in the UK.

The early Saturday kick-off provides an opportunity for either team to play a potential Champions League quarter-final match on the following Tuesday (April 7).

However, both sides will need to overturn a first-leg deficit if they are to progress to the quarter-finals of that competition.

The Reds suffered a 1-0 defeat in Galatasaray but are still favored to get through. Manchester City, meanwhile, was trounced 3-0 at Real Madrid.

The dates for the three other FA Cup quarter-final matches have also been confirmed. Chelsea will welcome Port Vale on Saturday, April 4, with a 5.15pm kick-off, followed by Southampton hosting Arsenal later that evening at 8pm.

Leeds United will then make their way to West Ham for the final quarter-final fixture on Sunday, April 5, with kick-off slated for 4.30pm (all times UK).

Arne Slot will be eager to secure some silverware this season after the Reds were unable to successfully defend their Premier League title.

Nonetheless, securing a spot in next season's Champions League remains a high priority, with Liverpool currently sitting sixth in the league table.

"What I want is that every single player gets the maximum out of every single training session and game we are playing from now until the end of the season," Arne Slot said on Friday.

"That is the aim for me, and that should be the aim for the players. I’m 100 per cent sure that is the aim for the players, because that’s the only way to get the maximum out of what is there, what is in it for us."

The Reds have a prime opportunity to bag another three points when a struggling Tottenham Hotspur side visit Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
