Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says his side faces an anxious wait to determine the extent of injuries to Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard— just over a week before his side comes to Anfield to take on Liverpool.
"That's the negative," Arteta said in his press conference following Arsenal's 5-0 win over Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday. "Martin felt something in his shoulder; we will have to scan that tomorrow.
"Bukayo felt something in his hamstring when he was running with the ball. We will have to speak tomorrow with the doctors. So [we will] just [have to] wait."
Given the potential injuries that Arsenal has sustained, the Gunners couldn't have brought in Eberechi Eze at a better time. Kai Havertz is also sidelined at the moment and had to watch from the sidelines.
"We are so pleased to have completed this deal to bring Eberechi to Arsenal," sporting director Andrea Berta said as the Eze transfer was confirmed before kick-off.
"Eberechi is a creative and explosive talent with huge technical quality — also a big-game player, with his experience at international level with England also underlining his quality and character.
"There has been excellent teamwork across the club to make this transfer happen and we are very confident Eberechi will be an important addition to our squad as we continue to build for success."
"We are absolutely delighted to bring Eberechi to Arsenal," Arteta added. "He is a powerful and exciting player who will give us a new dimension in our attacking game.
"What stands out just as much as his talent and intelligence as a player, is the way he has worked hard throughout his career to get where he is today.
"His journey, his mentality, and his ambition are exactly what we want in our team, and we love how much it means to him and his family to be joining our club. We all look forward to start working with Eberechi soon."

Arsenal went in front through Jurrien Timber before doubling its lead through Saka just before half-time. Big-money signing Viktor Gyokeres also netted twice in a boost for the Swede, with Timber also grabbing a brace.
But losing Odegaard and Saka, two of Arsenal's key attacking threats, will be a major blow for the North London side if either prove to be missing for any significant period of time.
Liverpool vs Arsenal at Anfield could be a decisive fixture in the Premier League title race. The Reds will be without Jeremie Frimpong after he picked up a hamstring issue against Bournemouth that will sideline him until after the September international break..
