Mohamed Salah has confirmed his departure from Liverpool at the conclusion of the current campaign.

The club announced on Tuesday that terms have been agreed with the Egyptian to bring his nine-year spell at Anfield to a close. Salah joined from Roma in 2017, and throughout his period on Merseyside, he has secured two Premier League titles, a Champions League trophy, an FA Cup, and two Carabao Cup trophies — amongst other honors — while becoming Liverpool's third-highest ever scorer.

As things stand, the 33-year-old will feature in his final match for the Reds against Brentford on the concluding day of the Premier League campaign. That fixture is set for Sunday, May 24, at Anfield, though Salah could yet represent the Reds seven days afterwards.

This is because the Champions League final occurs on Saturday, May 30, at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, Hungary. Liverpool is set to face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarterfinals later this month.

Arne Slot's players resume following the international break with an FA Cup quarterfinal encounter against Manchester City, meaning two appearances at Wembley remain achievable for the forward prior to his exit.

A Liverpool statement announcing Salah's departure stated: "Mohamed Salah is to bring the curtain down on his illustrious career with Liverpool at the end of the 2025-26 season.

"The forward has reached an agreement with the Reds that will see him close a remarkable nine-year chapter at Anfield.

"Salah expressed his wish to make this announcement to the supporters at the earliest possible opportunity to provide transparency about his future due to his respect and gratitude for them."

Salah's tally of 255 goals in 435 appearances for the Reds places him third amongst the club's all-time leading scorers. He has claimed the Premier League golden boot on four occasions and been named the Professional Footballers' Association player of the year three times, in 2018, 2022 and 2025.

In a video showcasing highlights of his spell with Liverpool shared on X, Salah said: "Hello everyone. Unfortunately, the day has come. This is the first part of my farewell. I will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.

"I wanted to start by saying that I never imagined how deeply this club, this city, these people would become part of my life. Liverpool is not just a football club. It's a passion, it's a history, it's a spirit. I can't explain in words to anyone not of this club.

"We celebrated victory, we won the most important trophies and we fought together through the hardest time in our life. I want to thank everyone who was part of this club throughout my time here, especially the team-mates past and present.

"And to the fans, I don't have enough words. The support you showed me through the best time of my career, and you stood by me in the toughest times. It's something I will never forget and something I will take with me always.

"Leaving is never easy. You gave me the best time of my life. I will be always one of you. This club will always be my home, to me and to my family. Thank you for everything. Because of all of you, I will never walk alone."
