Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has made a revelation about Newcastle United that might take Reds supporters by surprise. Speaking to TNT Sports, Gerrard covered various subjects, reminiscing about his most cherished moments at Anfield and the most challenging adversaries he encountered there.
During his tour of Anfield, he stopped at the away dressing room, where he disclosed that Newcastle is his second Premier League side. It's a confession that could astonish Liverpool's fanbase, particularly following last summer's transfer dispute involving Alexander Isak.
"I'm surprised I'm welcome in here, to be honest," the former captain quipped. "It's quite fitting actually because outside of Liverpool, if I wanted anyone to win the league, it would be Newcastle.

Gerrard's remarks may unsettle some Reds' supporters in light of the transfer dispute between Liverpool and Newcastle last summer.
Speculation surrounding Isak's future intensified at the conclusion of last season, with the striker eventually agitating for a transfer to the Premier League champions.
The saga proved far from smooth and rapidly became acrimonious. Isak was initially excluded from Newcastle's pre-season tour of Asia, and Liverpool's £110 million ($147 million) offer was subsequently turned down.
The Swedish striker had informed the club of his desire to leave, resulting in him training separately and being absent from Newcastle's league opener against Aston Villa. He subsequently released a bombshell statement, declaring that 'promises have been broken' and 'trust has been lost' between player and club.

Newcastle was willing to sanction his departure and began examining the conditions of a potential sale, specifically securing two replacements and obtaining an acceptable fee, with Liverpool in active discussions.
After months of speculation and protracted negotiations, Isak completed a record-breaking £125M ($167M) transfer to Liverpool on deadline day (Sept. 2), becoming the most expensive signing in Anfield's history.
However, the club is yet to witness the player they invested substantial funds in, with the Swede battling injuries since arriving on Merseyside. The 26-year-old fractured his tibia in December following a challenge from Spurs' Micky van de Ven, requiring surgery for an ankle injury that included a fibula fracture.

Time to recover and support from the sideline. I will work hard to be back as soon as I possibly can.
"Thank you all reds and everyone else for the kind messages, it does not go unnoticed."
He could be nearing his return, having been seen working individually in training before their Champions League second-leg clash with Galatasaray, where Arne Slot's side are trailing 1-0.
