A European giant may no longer be able to shift one of their fringe players to Tottenham Hotspur as the Lilywhites teeter on the edge of relegation.
According to reports, Spurs are expected to make another managerial change during the international break as the club desperately tries to roll the dice and preserve their Premier League status.
The prospect of relegation hanging over their necks means that Tottenham Hotspur are not able to make concrete plans for the summer window.
Spurs are reportedly fearful of losing some of their best players this summer, with some of the biggest clubs around Europe plotting a raid on the North Londoners.

Tottenham no longer expected to sign Joao Palhinha amidst relegation fears
Tottenham have the option to sign Palhinha permanently for £22m this summer, but the club are no longer guaranteed to take up that option.
It has emerged over recent weeks that the exit of Thomas Frank from Spurs has put Palhinha’s future at the club in doubt, and there has now been a new update on the midfielder’s future.
According to information presented by Bild podcast “Bayern Insider, Bayern’s hopes of getting a financial windfall from Tottenham for Palhinha have now received a blow.
Given that Spurs are struggling to preserve their Premier League status, it is asserted that Palhinha will likely return to Munich at the end of the season.
The report states that the Portuguese international is unlikely to stay at Bayern, who are hoping to raise around €30m (£26m) from his sale this summer.
Palhinha is wanted by other Premier League clubs
While the update suggests that Tottenham are not expected to land the midfielder permanently, he is said to be attracting interest from Premier League clubs, although the identity of those clubs is not mentioned.
This ties in with an earlier report, which suggested that Palhinha may return to a club where he had plenty of success in the past.
It was reported a couple of months ago that Fulham are monitoring Palhinha’s situation and are keen to take the player back to Craven Cottage when the transfer window reopens in the summer.
