Trent Alexander-Arnold reacts to Mohamed Salah's shock Liverpool announcement

Mohamed Salah announced he will be leaving Liverpool this summer and Trent Alexander-Arnold is among his former teammates to react to the shock news

Trent Alexander-Arnold has sent a message to Mohamed Salah after he confirmed he would be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.

Salah had only signed a new two-year deal last summer after helping Liverpool win the Premier League title under Arne Slot. But this season has been a disappointing one for the player and the club, with the Reds agreeing to let him depart on a free transfer.

The Egyptian announced his exit in an emotional video on social media, with a host of teammates rushing to the comments to support one of the greatest players in the club's history.

Alexander-Arnold, who left Liverpool for Real Madrid last summer, as Salah and Virgil van Dijk signed new contracts, responded with a simple love heart emoji.

Van Dijk had a similar response while Andy Robertson wrote "The greatest". Ryan Gravenberch posted a simple but deeply felt tribute, writing the word "Legend" accompanied by a heart emoji.

The likes of Hugo Ekitike and Harvey Elliott also sent messages to Salah, who is expected to make a long-awaited move to Saudi Arabia this summer.

Salah and Alexander-Arnold shared a close relationship during their time together at Anfield and the Reds man paid tribute to his teammate when he departed for Madrid.

The Liverpool forward wrote at the time: "It’s been a pleasure sharing a special friendship with you and playing alongside you. I wish you the best and I am sure we will meet again."
