Arsenal are just a few steps away from wrapping up a deal for Viktor Gyokeres. The Sporting striker was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium for much of the summer before Andrea Berta finally made a breakthrough.
Gyokeres looks set to follow the signings of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard and Noni Madueke as part of a rebuild in north London. Last season, Mikel Arteta publicly called on higher-ups to bolster his squad, but his complaints fell on deaf ears.
Eager to step up recruitment, Berta replaced Edu as the sporting director. If Gyokeres signs on the dotted line, the former Atletico Madrid chief's total spend for the window will reach nearly £200m – and the arrival of Cristhian Mosquera could topple that landmark figure.
So, with that being said, football.london has rounded up everything you need to know about Gyokeres and his transfer to Arsenal.

Arsenal reach verbal agreement
football.london understands that the Gunners have reached a verbal agreement with Sporting for the signing of Gyokeres. Last week, Arsenal agreed a deal in principle worth €63.5m (£55m), plus €10m (£8.7m) in add-ons, before Andrea Berta and the Portuguese champions discussed the structure.
While the Arsenal sporting director finalised the transfer, it's understood that Sporting had been fielding approaches from other clubs. Manchester United were considered a potential suitor, as were teams in the Saudi Pro League, but the Sweden international's stance was clear: he only wanted to join the north London outfit.
Gyokeres set for imminent Arsenal debut
According to the Independent, Arsenal plan to fly Gyokeres out to Singapore for his medical as they look to finalise his move on their pre-season tour of Asia. The Gunners will face AC Milan on Wednesday, which will come too soon for the Swede, and Newcastle United on Sunday.
Arsenal will lock horns with Tottenham Hotspur in Hong Kong a few days later before returning to the United Kingdom for the Emirates Cup. Arteta's side will host Villarreal and Athletic Club a week or so in advance of their trip to Old Trafford for the opening game of the new Premier League season.

Mourinho reacts to Gyokeres transfer
In an interview with Portuguese outlet A Bola ahead of the Swede's unveiling, Mourinho was quizzed on the transfer. The former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur boss put rivalry aside to heap praise on the prospective Arsenal star.
"Gyokeres is a great player, I have no doubt about that," said Mourinho. "Now, Sporting had a way of playing largely around him or adapted to him; I don't know what Hugo Viana and Ruben Amorim's initial thinking was. But he's a player with great potential; it's clear that in England he'll play against stronger teams and better players."
Sporting find Gyokeres replacement
According to Portuguese outlet Record, as quoted by the Mirror, Sporting have submitted a bid worth about £20m for Luis Javier Suarez from Almeria, with Gyokeres nearing a move to Arsenal. The report claims that the 27-year-old striker, who has previously enjoyed spells at Watford and Marseille, has already said 'yes' to being the Swede's replacement.
It's said that Sporting will fork out £15.6m for Suarez, with £4.3m payable in add-ons. The Colombian has reportedly travelled with the Portuguese champions to Marbella for their pre-season training camp.
