Andy Robertson has brushed off a section of Scotland fans booing their side after suffering a second defeat during the international break.
The Liverpool left-back captained his country once again against the Ivory Coast on Tuesday as Steve Clarke’s players continued their preparations for a first World Cup appearance since 1998.
The international break hasn’t quite gone according to plan for the Scots though, having fallen to a 1-0 defeat to Japan at Hampden Park on Saturday before suffering the same scoreline last night at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium, leading to more boos from some supporters after they had also voiced their displeasure at the weekend.

“I think it’s now just set that if we don’t get the result, then we just get booed,” Robertson told reporters after the defeat to the Ivory Coast.
“But what I will say is, 95 percent of the fans drowned that out very quickly, so it’s a small minority. It was a small minority at Hampden on Saturday, and it was a small minority today.

“I think everyone behind that goal today when we were clapping were fans that were appreciative of what they’ve seen, appreciative of a team that have taken them to a World Cup. The reception at the end was unbelievable. It’s only a few people.”
Robertson added: “For me, that’s not a booing performance. That was a performance that, okay we got beat and I hate getting beat, but there were a lot of positives to take.
“It wasn’t for a want of trying, we played some really good stuff, especially second half, and I think a lot of people have seen that. That’s why the reception was so good when we were doing our lap of thanks.”

Robertson also pointed to England’s defeat to Japan on the same night as he attempted to put some perspective on his own side’s results during the break.
“If I’m not wrong, I think Japan have beaten England 1-0 today as well, so let’s be real,” he said.
“We got beaten 1-0 by Japan and it was a 0-0 game, we just probably made a mistake. They’ve gone and beaten England, so it shows Japan are a good team, Ivory Coast won 4-0 on Saturday, and I think for large parts we were the better team, certainly in the second half.”
Liverpool.com says: It is strange that Scotland is about to go to its first World Cup since 1998, and already some fans are booing. Suffering back-to-back defeats isn’t ideal, but it does set an odd precedent ahead of what is the country’s biggest moment in decades.
